The Gage Players

The Gage Players were formed in 1950 by accepting a challenge (the laying down of a gauntlet, or gage) by Walton Village to form a drama society, and we have been producing plays at the Riddell Memorial Hall ever since.

We produce two full plays a year – in spring and in early winter.  We also give an un-ticketed rehearsed reading performance with supper to Gage members and their friends and family each September – this is a good place to try out as an actor without the strain of learning lines!

As we like to enlarge our repertoire, we are always interested in recruiting new actors and also in extending our backstage crew, the hidden heroes of every production.  So we would welcome approaches from anyone interested in performing, or in helping with set-building and painting, or props and wardrobe, or front-of house – selling programmes and raffle tickets or helping in the bars.  If you would like to learn about lighting and sound, our present crew are very experienced and would be glad to pass on their skills.

So, become a member of The Gage for the very modest annual subscription of £15 and see what fun you could have!

This is the Riddell Memorial Hall, there is no real car park so please park in the streets paying respect to the neighbours drives and cars.
